Why it’s on our shelf

  1. Every part movesTurn the power shaft and all of the internal parts move as they should, with the mechanism fully visible.
  2. Six engine genresFrom a single cylinder to a seven-cylinder radial and an opposed aircraft engine, each in its own layout.
  3. Built layer by layerParts are cut from 1/8 inch Baltic birch plywood and assembled like a mix of puzzle, woodworking and engine work.

Laser-cut plywood engine kits where every internal part moves when you turn the shaft.

Morris Models makes engine kits cut from Baltic birch plywood with CNC lasers. Each kit is an animated engine you assemble layer by layer; turn the power shaft and the internal parts move as they should, and all of them stay visible.

The Kickstarter campaign offered six models: single cylinder, Wankel-style rotary, V-twin, seven-cylinder radial, WWI rotary and opposed aircraft engine. They are designed for wall display, from about 10.5 inches to 17.5 inches across. Launch details for the store are coming soon.
