The desk

The window

A desk by a window needs blinds. OSHA suggests turning the screen so its face sits at right angles to the window and using blinds to let light into the room without putting it in your field of view.

Laptop up, keyboard down

A laptop stand lifts the screen toward eye level, where OSHA wants the top line of the screen. That puts the built-in keyboard too high, so a separate keyboard goes at elbow height.
